EANI-209: Storyboarding for Anim Feature

Storyboarding for Animated Feature Films is an advanced studio course exploring the professional art of visual storytelling for animated feature films. Students will learn how story sequences evolve from script pages and rough thumbnails into polished storyboards, story reels, and finished animatics, mastering the principles of character, conflict, staging, performance, cinematography, timing, and cinematic clarity. Through lectures, professional sequence breakdowns, collaborative pitch sessions, critiques, and one-on-one mentorship, students will develop an original storyboard sequence from concept to completion. Along the way, they will strengthen their ability to communicate emotion, humor, and action through images while embracing the iterative creative process that defines feature animation production.
