Building on foundational spatial design, this course focuses on the systemic and experiential aspects of level design. Students will learn how to design and implement playable levels by integrating gameplay mechanics, player objectives, environmental storytelling, and encounter design. Through industry-standard workflows-including flowcharts, top-down layouts, and blockouts-students will explore how spatial arrangement, progression, and narrative shape player experience. Emphasis is placed on playtesting, iteration, and critical feedback to refine functional, engaging level designs.
