Concept Studios bring together topics and techniques explored in other courses around a unified design project. Here, students engage with subject experts, conduct research, and propose ideas. This process involves iteration and development, culminating in the presentation and defense of original work. These courses model the synthesis of design, critical thinking, and creative technology skills that students will independently demonstrate in their upcoming Thesis project. Students will gain experience formulating design questions, translating abstract ideas into tangible objects and media, effective time and workflow management, considering their audience and contributing to disciplinary discussions, working reflexively.
