Building on the foundations established in Type 1: Fundamentals, Type 2: Structure offers a rigorous exploration of typography as both a formal and communicative discipline. Emphasis is placed on developing fluency in typeface selection, typographic hierarchy, and layout composition across multiple assignments. Students will refine their understanding of scale, structure, and the use of typographic grids, while deepening their awareness of the historical and contemporary roles typography plays in visual communication. Through a series of analytical exercises, students cultivate a critical sensitivity to the responsibilities of working with visible language.
This is a foundational course required for all Graphic Design students.
