Transmedia is design across all media through the orchestration of brand identities, generative systems, multidimensional narratives and interactive environments. Students in this introductory course will learn foundational concepts in transmedia, seamlessly translating visual languages across traditional and emerging media utilizing materiality, scale and interactivity to create multi-sensory spatial experiences. In this process, students will be introduced to emerging tools and techniques including projection mapping, generative design, and app-based controllers. At the conclusion of the class, students will learn to document their projects using photography and videography, supported by use-case scenarios, diagrams and storyboarding.
This is a foundational course required for all Graphic Design students.
