This course explores contemporary urban inequalities and different solutions to our current urban predicament. We will use Los Angeles as our classroom. Our time will be divided between in-class discussions of policing and public safety, real estate development and gentrification, and the complex issues facing the unhoused as well as field trips where we will engage activists, design professionals and city leaders.
