Introduction to Materials for Industrial Design
Using an industrial design framework, the student will survey materials, methods of processing them, and sources of material innovation toward visualizing a designed experience of materiality. Surveyed materials will include ceramics, composites, glass, metals, polymers, textiles, and wood. Students will learn material taxonomy and research material trends toward designing an experience defined by materiality.
