The goal of this course is to help you build a web portfolio to apply for an internship and to prepare you for a comprehensive departmental gateway review. The material covered will form a foundation for your portfolio, which you will continue to develop as you progress through the program. You will present three of your best projects in your portfolio website, framing each project's message to illustrate your full design thinking and decision-making process. You will graphically design and produce a portfolio website and upload the website to the internet. You will focus on strengthening your written communication to describe your educational journey, outline your professional aspirations, and strategically position yourself as a qualified candidate for two different internship opportunities.
In the second half of the semester, your portfolio, as a representation of your design work, will be reviewed by a panel comprised of the department chair and faculty. That review will allow the team to recommend your future class strategy, area of emphasis, and strengths and areas for improvement. That review will advise on your 4th Term Review pass/no pass status.
