This 3-unit course engages students in multiple projects throughout the semester, introducing tools, techniques, methods, and 3D modeling through interactive lectures and hands-on work in the Art Center shops. Taught in conjunction with Visual Thinking 1, it involves completing a substantial project demonstrating an understanding and proficiency in woodworking. The course is dedicated to enhancing students' comprehension of the inherent characteristics of various materials in order to explore their best applications for communicating intention. This exploration broadens students' understanding of creative problem-solving, originality, and the analysis of 3D forms in space.
