This course explores the intersection of technological innovation and human-centered design, preparing students to anticipate, interpret, and shape the impact of emerging technologies on society, business, and everyday life. Students will examine current and near-future technologies-such as artificial intelligence, spatial computing (AR/VR), tobotics, sustainable materials, and space tech--and learn how to translate them into meaningful design opportunities. Through case studies, workshops, and collaborative projects, students will: Identify technological trends and evaluate their implications for users, systems, and markets. Apply strategic foresight and speculative design to imagine future products and services. Prototype design concepts that bridge experimental technology and human experience. Collaborate with experts from industry and research labs to understand the realities of innovation pipelines and technology transfer.
