This studio marks the beginning of a two-part capstone experience, guiding students in the definition and conceptual development of their final degree projects. In this first phase, students identify their professional area of interest and initiate self-directed design inquiries through research, precedent analysis, and personal reflection. With faculty mentorship, students shape their direction into a compelling design proposal, articulating the project's intent, audience, context, and conceptual framework. The focus of the term is on developing a strong narrative, spatial concept, and early design strategies that will form the foundation for detailed development in the following term. Outcomes include a clearly defined project brief, design visuals, and a road map for the next stage of the design process.
